Through out the History of Man kind Siberian Larch has shown it self as the strongest timber.
What makes Siberian Larch unique is harsh environment of upbringing.
Thus Siberian Larch has developed unique qualities of Durability, Density, Water, Root, Insect resistance
Durability & Density
Siberian larch has has very tight pattern of annual rings, similar to oak. Due to its high percentage of heartwood (75-90%) At moisture content of 18% wood density is 628 Kg/m3 much higher then lots of hardwoods. As such, it is not easily damaged and therefore is ideal for highly exposed elevations, or applications where there is the likelihood of physical damage such as knocks or scrapes (e.g. schools, shopping centers, public walkways).
Water, Root, Insect resistance
Siberian larch is highly resistant to rotting due to a very high density and high resin content. Compared to oak, ash or pine, it is twice more resistant. Siberian Larch is even unable to be eaten by termites as it has unique chemical structure. Products made of Siberian larch have a lifespan of over 100 years in all kinds of environment. As well as Siberian larch does not lose its properties even without any surface treatment. It is successfully used in constructions influenced by water, such as piers, roofing, outdoor terraces, pools
Sustainability
Independently Verified Environmental Credentials Siberian Larch is one of the few old growth species that are being harvested from a sustainable forest. Larch species actually account for 38% of the timber in a forest area 2.7 billion acres in size. The natural growth rate of Siberian Larch is five times more than the rate at which it is being harvested, making it a sustainable renewable resource that is in plentiful supply.
Size
Larch is available in varying lengths of 3.0 m up to 6m, widths of 75, 100, 150, 200 or 225mm and thicknesses of 20, 25, 28, 32, 38 and 50mm. Please note that these are standard sizes, but other sizes may be available on request.
